Your Trauma Recovery Journey

Find Healing, Growth and Transformation

Trauma is not what happens to you. Trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you.

~ Dr. Gabor Maté

Trauma affects many of us in insidious ways. It leaves us confused, overwhelmed or numb. We find it difficult to concentrate, and we struggle with intense feelings of sadness, fear or shame. We feel disconnected from others and ourselves.  We fear judgement and rejection from others. We have difficulties trusting.

The past affects the present and as such, the future. By challenging and reframing the negative beliefs we hold about ourselves, we can rewrite the story of our past and move toward healing.

I believe that healing is possible, and that every individual has the inherent capacity to thrive, even in the face of adversity. Each individual is the expert of their own existence. As a trauma recovery coach I partner with my client in exploring ways to (re)establishing a sense of safety and trust, moving away from feeling stuck and embracing a life of choice, courage and confidence.

In our work together, you can expect:

  • A safe and non-judgmental space to explore your experiences and emotions.

  • Practical tools and strategies to manage symptoms of trauma and regulate your nervous system.

  • Support in identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs.

  • Building healthy boundaries and relationships that feel safe and secure.

  • Guidance in developing healthy coping mechanisms and self-care practices.

  • Empowerment to reclaim your sense of agency and autonomy in your life.

How does working with a trauma recovery coach differ from therapy?

  • My focus is on practical strategies and tools for coping with trauma, whereas therapists may delve more into the emotional and psychological aspects.

  • I take a holistic approach to healing, addressing various aspects of life such as relationships, career, and physical health, while therapists may primarily focus on mental health.

  • I work in collaboration with my clients, offering support, guidance, and accountability; sometimes therapy may feel more hierarchical.

  • I offer more flexibility in terms of scheduling and structure compared to traditional therapy sessions.

  • Some individuals may find it beneficial to work with both a trauma recovery coach and a therapist simultaneously, as we provide different perspectives and support.

While coaching can be therapeutic at times, it is not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment. If more in-depth solutions are required, I work closely with therapists, counselors, and other healthcare providers to ensure my clients receive comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs.
